Swami Vivekananda Birthday Celebration - 2026 Report

On Sunday, January 11, the Vivekananda Vedanta Society of Chicago celebrated Swami Vivekananda's Birthday. The program began at 11 am. with ritual worship Aaditree, Dev, Sattvic, and Zaine shared why they love Vivekananda.
Aadya chanted from the Bhagavad Gita. Tapan offered Indian classical devotional songs to Swamiji. Arpita served as the emcee. Swami Ishatmananda spoke on the relevance of Vivekananda in the present day.
Nearly 140 Vivekananda and Vedanta devotees attended the celebration despite the extremely cold weather. All enjoyed prasad hunch after the offering of flowers.
