Home of Harmony, a branch of the Vivekananda Vedanta Society of Chicago, is a welcoming space dedicated to reflection, learning, and spiritual growth within the Chicago community. Open to all, it is a living space where cultures, faiths, and communities come together.

What Inspired This Place?
An Ancient, Everlasting Ideal
At the 1893 Chicago Parliament of World Religions, Swami Vivekananda brought India's timeless message of universal acceptance to the Western world. Sri Ramakrishna had embodied this truth — walking every religious path and arriving at the same luminous goal. From this lived experience of harmony, the Vivekananda Vedanta Society of Chicago created the Home of Harmony: a place where that vision becomes daily reality.
Programs & Activities
Free Entry. All Are Welcome.
All regular programs at the Home of Harmony are offered at no charge and welcome everyone.
Program 1: Know & Love
Saturday afternoon talks and panel discussions by respected scholars and religious leaders from various traditions, and multicultural music concerts that foster understanding.
Program 2: Yoga & Meditation
Weekly Sunday sessions led by qualified instructors, open to walk-ins at no cost. Nurture both body and spirit alongside neighbors from in and around Chicago.
Program 3: School of World Religions
Online courses exploring major faith traditions, open to a global community. An onsite library and reading rooms provide further learning resources.

The Home of Harmony also houses the Mumukshu Nivas — a residential guest facility for visiting devotees and spiritually inclined students from around the world — and on-premises quarters for visiting monks.
